More about Oliwa Park Adam Mickiewicz
Oliwa Park, founded by the Cistercians, is the jewel of Gdańsk with an area of 11.3 ha. Its baroque French part, designed by Hentschl, offers a well-thought-out composition with the Linden Avenue and a vast pond. The garden, transformed by abbot Jacek Józef Rybiński, delights with its symmetry and elegance, combining architectural elements with the natural landscape.

Oliwa Park Adam Mickiewicz
The origins of Oliwa Park date back to the times of the Cistercians, who created a garden next to the monastery. Developed by Abbot Rybiński in the 17th century, the park underwent a transformation under the direction of Kazimierz Dębiński, who introduced the Baroque French part with the Linden Avenue and a flower and lawn ground floor. After the secularization of the monastery in 1831, the garden became the property of the Prussian state, gaining the status of a dendrological and landscape garden. Currently, the park, rich in valuable species of trees, shrubs and architectural elements such as the Whispering Grottoes, is an important cultural and tourist place, eagerly visited by residents and tourists.

Very pretty and tranquil park on the outskirts of Gdansk. You can take the tram there from the old town and it takes around 40 minutes. The park itself isn’t massive but you can probably wander around for about 30-60 minutes as there's many different trails you can take through the small gardens.Posted on Google![]()

A beautiful, historic park. A true oasis of tranquility in the city center. Well-maintained paths, ponds, ducks, ancient trees, and flowers. An ideal place for a relaxing stroll and rest. One of my favorite parks. I return to it with pleasure any time of year. The park also includes a palm house and a Japanese garden.

A beautiful park with many species of trees and shrubs, old but impeccably maintained. A wonderful place for a family walk, relaxing on a quiet path, or a photoshoot amidst the lush vegetation, with a waterfall in the background. Within the park is an exotic palm house, and right next door is the Oliwa Cathedral, with its incredible historic organs.

This is a must-see in Gdańsk. Beautiful, peaceful, well taken care of, provides an escape from the noise and congestion of the city. You can truly recharge your batteries feasting on the beauty of the park. But there’s plenty more to explore: the Oliwa Cathedral , the Abbot’s Palace and the Palm House to name a few. Another thing worth checking out is the famous Rococo organ in the cathedral, which holds free, 20 min performances daily. All in all, Oliwa Park is a gem. You don’t want to miss it when visiting Gdansk.Posted on Google![]()

🌿 Oliwa Park — a true place for the soul! ❤️ It's so beautiful here! Wonderful nature, picturesque paths, well-maintained grounds, and an incredible atmosphere of peace and harmony. Ducklings 🦆 swim majestically on the lake, and fluffy squirrels 🐿️ jump in the trees — watching them is a true pleasure! Everything in the park is so beautifully and carefully cared for that you'll want to wander here for hours, enjoy the fresh air, listen to the birdsong, and simply admire the surrounding beauty. ✨ It's the perfect place to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city, be close to nature, and recharge with positive energy. You'll want to come back here again and again! 💚🌳🍃

Adam Mickiewicz Park in Gdańsk is a historic monument of garden art, founded by Cistercian monks. French Baroque, English landscape style, and contemporary art harmoniously blend within its grounds. Sculptures scattered throughout the park form the Gdańsk Contemporary Sculpture Gallery, opened in 1976. Abstract forms and figures (works by masters such as Alfred Wiśniewski, Adam Smolana, and Wiesław Pietroń) symbolize biblical themes, the philosophy of existence, and inner human experiences. These fluid lines of stone and metal reflect the eternal mysteries of the human soul, the birth of feelings, spiritual quests, and metaphors of intimacy, leaving space for lovers to imagine. In the Anglo-Chinese section of the park lies a picturesque cascading waterfall, which Tricity residents jokingly call the "Tricity Niagara." The stream creates atmospheric ponds and canals, where swans and ducks swim. The water splashes against stones draped in emerald moss, filling the air with a crisp freshness, before gently flowing into quiet ponds dotted with water lilies. It's the perfect place to pause on the footbridge and make a wish. The park is home to two branches of the National Museum in Gdańsk – the Modern Art Department and the Ethnography Department. Strolling among the canvases of Polish artists, you can touch the nerves of our contemporary perception of the world. Or immerse yourself in the world of fairy tales and legends by visiting the Abbot's Granary, which holds the soul of Pomerania and Kashubia. And of course, don't forget to stroll along the famous 112-meter-long Linden Alley, which, thanks to an optical illusion, seems to flow directly into the pond. It's the perfect location for cozy autumn photo sessions, or to slow down for a moment and enjoy the waning warmth. May your day spent in this wonderful place be a lasting memory.

Oliwa Park is a green oasis of timeless beauty and is rightly considered the most charming park in all of Gdansk! The historic grounds surrounding the former Cistercian complex enchant visitors with a masterful combination of French Baroque garden, English landscape park, and palpable history. The perfectly straight avenues of linden trees, the mirror-like ponds teeming with waterfowl, and the rushing cascades of the Radaune stream create a truly magical setting in every season. A particular highlight is the lovingly designed Japanese garden with its Far Eastern plants and charming wooden bridges, as well as the historic palm house. The entire park is impeccably clean, superbly maintained, and offers countless quiet benches for relaxation and rejuvenation. Combined with a visit to the adjacent Oliwa Cathedral, the park is the perfect destination for a relaxing stroll in nature. A true gem – highly recommended.

A great spot that, in my opinion, every tourist visiting the Tricity area should have on their list. It's a beautiful park, perfect for exploring, strolling, and relaxing. Here you'll find beautiful gardens, perfect for Instagram photos, a charming palace, and well-maintained vegetation. The entire area is meticulously crafted down to every detail and truly makes a great impression. The downside is the park's small size and the lack of a pleasant restaurant where you can sit and relax with a drink. There is, however, a small café and a beautiful building with a free palm house available to tourists. The park also includes a Japanese Garden, but honestly, I've seen larger and much prettier gardens of this type in Poland, so it didn't impress me much here. Despite this, the entire area is definitely worth a visit, especially if you enjoy peaceful walks, beautiful vegetation, and atmospheric places.

The park is beautiful, well-maintained, and perfect for a leisurely stroll, especially during the flowering season (there's a wide variety of plants and shrubs, a stroll in the shade of the trees, a flowing river in the center, and numerous fish in the large pond). Unfortunately, beyond the walking area itself, there are no deeper attractions. The Japanese Garden is very small and unadorned (not coherent with its name), and the gazebo there only vaguely evokes Asian style. The modern glass palm house in the center of the park makes a "wow" impression, but only for 2-3 minutes. Regarding the historic architecture, the Abbots' Palace and neighboring buildings appear neglected or resemble ordinary residential buildings (the museum was closed during my visit, so I can only comment on the exterior of the crumbling building). I hope this will change. My visit: July 1, 2026.

I have to say this is the best park in the Tricity area. It’s well preserved and VERY clean, and there’s a coffee place where you can rest. Speaking of resting, you’ll find plenty of spots to sit and watch the beautiful nature. The park is equally beautiful in summer, autumn, spring and winter. My favourite spot is the Japanese garden, and when the cherry trees blossom the view is a blast. One thing I would add is a playground, because that’s really missing. I truly believe some decision makers are reading this, so to encourage them I’m giving 4/5. Let’s agree that once the playground is there, I’ll change it to 5 out of 5! 🤞Posted on Google![]()

Oliwa Park is beautiful. The diversity of plants and trees is enormous. A walk is a great way to recharge. You can also enjoy lunch or coffee with a delicious cake in the park. If you're planning a trip to Gdańsk or the Tricity area, be sure to add this place to your map of places worth visiting.

Palm House, Oliwa Palace. A place to rest. A lock, and ducks with their young can be seen by the water. A squirrel among the trees. Natural monuments, many trees and flower beds.

One of the most beautiful parks in Gdańsk. Well-maintained, full of greenery and flowers, with wide paths inviting for leisurely strolls. Plenty of benches and shaded areas under trees offer plenty of rest, even on hot days. It's a great space for a moment of quiet, relaxing with a book, or a leisurely stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Interestingly, the history of Oliwa Park dates back to the Cistercians, who established monastery gardens here in the 12th century. The park's current Baroque layout was created in the 18th century at the initiative of Abbot Jacek Rybiński, and over time was enriched with an English-style landscaped area. The park also features the famous Whispering Cave – thanks to its exceptional acoustics, a whisper spoken on one side is perfectly audible on the other.

Oliwa Park was one of the highlights of my visit to Gdańsk. I spent almost half a day here, and it was absolutely worth it. The park is huge, and the old trees immediately give you a sense of its long history. There are beautiful gardens, a wide variety of plants, peaceful walking paths, a charming stream, and elegant sculptures throughout the park. It has a very relaxing atmosphere, and it was lovely to see so many people enjoying the outdoors. There is also a permanent museum inside the park, and right next to it I found a local handicrafts exhibition, which was a nice surprise and added even more to the experience. On the hot summer day I visited, there was a small ice cream stand near the glass building of the botanical garden. I ordered a scoop of pistachio ice cream, and I can honestly say it was one of the best pistachio ice creams I have ever had. The flavor was incredibly rich, natural, and unforgettable. I highly recommend visiting this park. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and explore one of the city’s most beautiful green spaces.Posted on Google![]()
